A SENSE OF MOVEMENT: JAPANESE SPORTS POSTERS
Discover Japan's rich graphic design culture in A Sense of Movement: Japanese Sports Posters.
This free exhibition features a selection of 24 posters by six Japanese graphic designers, from great masters such as Yūsaku Kamekura (1915-1997) and Tadanori Yokoo to young professionals who are currently active in the field, like Yuri Uenishi.
Co-presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney and the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion, A Sense of Movement explores how these uniquely creative minds have used two-dimensional printed media to convey sport and its 'sense of movement' throughout the decades.
Viewers will be able to appreciate the compositional beauty, dynamism and humour expressed in each poster, all of which offer a unique perspective of sports.
The exhibition will be held at The Japan Foundation, Sydney gallery from October 22, 2021 to January 22, 2022.
Times: Mon-Fri: 10am - 6pm Saturday: 10am - 4pm
