Bella Vista Farm Park |
Set in 20 hectares of rural landscape, Bella Vista Farm, located at Elizabeth Macarthur Drive, Bella Vista is an intact historic farm complex of cultural significance to the nation.
Established in the late 1s, the complex features a two storey homestead, Bunya Pine lined driveway and various farm outbuildings set on a prominent hilltop. It provides a rare surviving link between the community today, the first European settlers and some of Australia's earliest rural development.
Bella Vista Farm was transferred into Council ownership in 1998. Council has adopted a Conservation Management Plan for the site. The plan aims to facilitate the restoration and long-term conservation of the property, and provide for a range of complementary uses of the property, supplying the local community and visitors with a unique venue.
The surrounding grounds of Bella Vista Farm are open to the public and feature BBQ facilities, picnic tables, walking tracks, toilets and is dog-friendly (dogs must be on-leash at all times).
The entrance to the farm is located on Elizabeth MacArthur Drive, off Norwest Blvd and car parking is available in the outer grounds of the farm, just inside the entrance.
The Friends of Bella Vista farm hold regular open days, on the first Sunday of each month where the farm can be fully accessed. Volunteers from the Friends of Bella Vista farm are available on open days to chat and answer any question about the Farm and its history. You can relax in the gardens of the Farm, bring a family picnic lunch to enjoy and explore the homestead and farm buildings.
In addition to open days this venue also hosts large community and cultural events including Australia Day celebrations, Shakespeare in the Park and concerts including the Red Hot Summer Tour in 2020.
