Brenda May established Access Gallery in Sydney in 1985 to support emerging Australian artists.

The Gallery moved to the Danks Street complex when it opened in 2001 and currently represents a small group of new or emerging and established artists - Tanmaya Bingham, Senden Blackwood, Robert Boynes, Will Coles, Jim Croke, Sybil Curtis, Todd Fuller, James Guppy, Melinda Le Guay, Carol Murphy, Mylyn Nguyen, Leslie Oliver, Lezlie Tilley and Peter Tilley.

The Gallery maintains its support of emerging and non-represented artists by hosting a broad range of solo and thematic exhibitions throughout the year. An extensive open stockroom of movable racks completes this user-friendly gallery.

Since 1990, Brenda May has been a regular exhibitor at the Melbourne Art Fair and also a member of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association.

Designed for arts patron Leo Christie by Robert May of May+Swan Architects, 2 Danks Street has led the way to establish the area as the exciting art and food location that it is today.
