Camellia Grove Nursery opened in 1939 in what was then the remote Sydney suburb of St Ives. It was established by the late Professor E.G. Waterhouse, who won international recognition for his research with camellias. Over the six decades the nursery was at St Ives, it earned a fine reputation not only for its quality plants, but as a tourist destination for people from all over the world. At the end of 2004, the nursery moved to its present location at Glenorie in Sydneys north-west.
