So youre 12 to 18 years old, you want to hang with your friends but you dont want to spend money or be hassled.. where do you go? The Chatswood Youth Centre!

Things to do

The Chatswood Youth Centre provides an information, recreation and referral service for all young people aged 12-18 years, so feel free to come in and check it out. You can lounge around, grab an acoustic guitar, use the pool table or foosball, play table tennis or air-hockey, try some rooftop basketball, volleyball or soccer, use the open air table tennis, punching bags and mini skate/scooter facilities, use the Internet, have a turn on the PS3, X-Box 360 and Wii games consoles, get into our kitchen facilities and a heap more... all for free!

Music Room

The Chatswood Youth Centre has a fully equiped music room that comes complete with instruments and other gear, and can be booked for use by bands and young people (under 24). There's a PA system, mics, drums, guitar, electric acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard, piano and amps available, but you are also welcome to bring your own instruments. Youll be shown how to set the system up. To hire the music room is $3 an hour per band.

We also have the equipment to offer budget recording for young bands and musicians. We will teach you how to use the recording software and equipment, so have a chat to us about booking a recording session! For booking information contact the Youth Centre on 9777 7958 during opening hours.

Support and Help

If youre going through a hard time and need a hand our friendly staff can help you access a range of youth-friendly services including accommodation, education, job seeker training, numeracy and literacy training, translation services, mental health and other health services, relationship counselling, Centrelink and more.

Special Events

Throughout the year Youth Centre staff organise programs, workshops and special events specifically for young people. Events can include anything from rooftop sports and BBQs to skate days, dance classes, Air & Soul Painting workshops and gigs, so while you are at the centre keep an eye out for promotional material on activities that might appeal to you. Special events can cost a small fee, depending on the activity.

Hiring the Centre

The Chatswood Youth Centre and rooftop basketball courts are available for hire. Examples of current hirers include playgroups, martial arts classes, support groups, lunchtime sports groups, and more.
