Chiado Portuguese Restaurant

Chiado Portuguese Restaurant

Chiado is a traditional Portuguese restaurant. As such, we have stayed true to our roots and have chosen to showcase only the best wines Portugal has to offer.

Portugals varied and rich history has thrived and survived through successive invasions and collaborations and developed a character all its own. Chiado hopes to bring a little of this diverse and spellbinding gastronomy to Australian shores.

The team at Chiado have created a menu that celebrates a unique twist on authentic Portugese food presented in a modern Australian way.

Start your Chiado experience off with Saladas (Salads & Side Dishes) and Petiscos (Small Meals) or if youve got an appetite enjoy Pratos Principais (Main Courses) before topping off your experience with Doces (Desserts) - but we challenge you to just order one!

As the Chiado menu focuses heavily on the latest local and Portugese produce the menu changes often so please download the latest menu below. Please note, with exception to dishes marked with an asterisk, all meals at Chiado are gluten free.

Portugal has been producing wine for hundreds of years and has recently become one of the top wine exporters (10th in the world); a massive feat considering that Portugal is 83 times smaller than Australia.

Our wine list has been designed by Michael Wren, a winemaker from Esporão, Portugal, and comprises of Portuguese and Australian wines - the best of both worlds - the new and the old. While the wines of Australia have become world famous, the wines of Portugal have been quiet achievers; winning awards and hearts, but remaining a well-kept secrets.

If wine isnt your thing, Chiado also offers a range of modern Portugese-influenced cocktails.
