Jesus Struggle Remembered on Good Friday

Christians around Australia marked their Good Friday in sober and crowded church services while Sydneysiders opted for something more theatrical.

A dramatic re-enactment of Jesus crucifixion broke the quiet of the CBD streets of Sydney on Friday morning, beginning in Martin Place where an actor dressed in bloodied robes and a crown of thorns on his head struggled down Pitt St against the weight of the cross and the taunts and abuse of surrounding "Roman centurions".
