Under the new management of EMU Productions (theatre & music Pty Ltd), guests explored the totally revamped space situated on the corner of King Street and Bray Street, Newtown, with live entertainment and a surprise performance of BLIND TASTING, that mirrors King Street Theatres unique approach to performing arts.

King Street Theatre envisages being a cultural hub for all things artistic including Drama, Musical, Cabaret, Pocket Opera, Chamber Music, Comedy, Dance, Street Art, Illusion, Grand Guignol, Erotica and the more unique subversions of Burlesque.

The space can also cater for functions and rehearsal rooms for secondary or tertiary education programs as well as corporate functions.

The new vision and improvement of the theatre is thanks to Managing Director of EMU Productions (theatre & music Pty Ltd) and creator of King Street Theatre, Markus Weber who brings over 40 years of experience as an actor, director and musical-producer. Markus holds a portfolio of over 150 professional theatre productions including European openings of Sweeney Todd (1984), Chicago (1984-1992) and produced and directed for the Vienna State Opera, Leipzig State Opera and Zürich Opera.
