Northern Sydney Institute (NSI)

Northern Sydney Institute (NSI) is one of Australias largest vocational education and training institutions.

It is a global provider of Australian education and training qualifications, offering over 600 courses and TAFE PLUS programs to 50,000 local and international students annually.

Ideally located to service customers across the northern metropolitan region of Sydney, the Institute is well served by rail and bus networks.

College locations are in close proximity to northern Sydneys major business districts, retail centres, entertainment facilities, beaches and bushland areas - and are within easy reach of the Sydney CBD.

There are seven TAFE NSW colleges in the Institute: Crows Nest, Hornsby, Meadowbank, North Sydney, Northern Beaches, Ryde and Bradfield Senior College. Each college has its own profile of courses for full-time and part-time study. Delivery can be face-to-face, online, or in the workplace.

Some TAFE NSW courses are co-delivered offshore through partnering institutions in the Asia Pacific region.

The range of courses and programs on offer are continually reviewed to ensure that NSI graduates are industry-ready with skills required by todays employers. The Institute continues to upgrade its college facilities to provide a modern learning environment with enhanced training capabilities.

NSIs contemporary training facilities include:

one of the states most well equipped ceramics training facilities. Located at Northern Beaches College, the facility embraces best practice in sustainable construction principles, with a range of courses delivered by industry professionals;

a new $9.1 million community services and health teaching facility (opened in 2005) to meet industry demand for qualified personnel in aged care, nursing, hairdressing and massage therapy;

at Meadowbank College, a purpose-built hair and beauty training centre enabling students to learn through practical on the job application;

at North Sydney College, the only broadcast-quality film and television training studios in NSW;

several skills centres for training in building and construction, automotive, maritime, autobody repairs/spray painting and engineering.
