Old 505 Theatre

The Old 505 Theatre is an artist run performance space.

By presenting a series of residencies and limited-season productions by invitation, the Old 505 Theatre aims to foster close relationships with some of Sydney's most exciting performing arts practitioners.

The venue also hosts an ongoing series of workshops and master classes by industry professionals, providing a valuable opportunity for performing artists to access continuing professional development.

Theatre Hire

The Old 505 Theatre is available for hire outside of our regular season program.

Our facilities and diverse staff experience allow us to host a range of events from educational workshops, short run performances, rehearsals, launches and more.

Accessibility
The Old 505 Theatre is located in the upstairs ballroom of the historic 100 year old Newtown School Of Arts. Currently there is no wheelchair access to level one but we are working closely with the trustees of the building on their refurbishment plan to improve access and hope in the future to be completely accessible.

Bar
The theatre is fully licensed and open for pre and post show refreshments.

Opening times
We open one hour prior to the start of the performance.

Performances
Theatre performances take place Tuesday to Saturday, 8pm. The venue opens one hour before. The theatre has a lock out policy - strictly no late entry. Please arrive well before the performance start time.

Programming
The Old 505 Theatre is a programmed space curated by our Founding Director Kerri Glasscock and Associate Artistic Director Gareth Boylan. Submissions are open annually in May for the following year's season. For more information email us.

Refunds and exchanges
We do not refund or exchange tickets.

Seating
The Old 505 Theatre seats 70 patrons.

Tickets
Pre-sales available online until 4pm on the day of the performance. Door sales at the theatre from one hour prior to performance unless sold out online.

Under 18s are welcome.
