Parliament House | Tours

A range of programs and events are scheduled throughout the year for the public to engage with the workings of the parliament.

These events are designed for families and adults, and can offer the opportunity to view the chambers in session, meet with Members, and on non-sitting days to sit in the chambers.

Public Tours

Join us every Monday and Friday at 1:30pm for a free guided tour and step back in time into one of Sydney's oldest buildings.

While walk-ins are always welcome, we recommend that you book in advance to obtain your preferred date and time slot. During New South Wales School Holidays public tours are at 11:30am and 1:30pm Monday to Friday.

Visit both chambers where laws are made and some of Sydney's oldest rooms in Australia's first Parliament.

Over one hour, our friendly guides will take you around the parliamentary precinct and through the historic legislative chambers. You will experience first-hand the beautiful colonial architecture while learning more about the role, history and work of the Parliament.

For any enquiries about the Public Tours (including questions around accessibility or accommodations) or for groups of 10 or more people, please call 9230 3444 (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm Sydney time) to make a separate booking time or email us.

The tour is conducted in English and is suitable for visitors of all ages. Access to historic rooms and the chambers is subject to availability on the day of your tour.
