Petersham Town Hall

Petersham Town Hall

Situated at 107 Crystal Street, Petersham, this is one of the few remaining Art Deco town halls that has been maintained in original condition.

The Petersham Town Hall is a heritage-listed town hall built in 1937-38 in the Inter-War Stripped Classical architectural style by architects Rudder & Grout.

The foundation stone for the town hall was laid by mayor M. McMahon on 18 December 1880

It has grand foyers, a ticket box and cloakroom. Ideal for concerts, dances, meetings and conferences.

Full of character and rich history, this art deco building was the backdrop for the flamboyant dancing scenes from Baz Luhrmann's 1992 film Strictly Ballroom. Opened in 1938 this heritage building still has wow factor. A large commercial kitchen, versatile space and stunning foyer make this the perfect venue for special events.
