Located in the ground floor of the heritage listed Parburys Bond Store in Walsh Bay, Restaurant Arras serves exquisite English and European themed dishes.
Run by Adam Humphrey, he draws experience from time served in Michelin starred restaurants in England, drawing from traditional British food but bringing it into the 21st century, shed of its stodgy, heavy history.
The minimalist interior setting of brick and stone and barred windows is fitting to the rich Commonwealth history of the two nations. The menu has origins of British classicism but with Modern appeal and execution. The menu could include Spiced Mulloway, Lentils and Bacon, Mead and Rye.
A niche offering in the Sydney dining scene, this modern take on European fare lets the chefs amuse themselves rattling the pans in the kitchen. And this creativity has not gone unnoticed; Restaurant Arras was recently awarded One Chefs Hat in the 2009 Good Food Guide.
