Originally developed as the main arena for the Sydney Showgrounds at Homebush in the late 1990s, the venue underwent a renovation that was completed in 2012, turning it into GIANTS Stadium, the home of the GWS GIANTS, with a 23,500-seat capacity.

The boutique venue provides one of the best fan experiences in Australia for AFL games.

Sydney Showground Stadium is part of the Sydney Showground venue at Sydney Olympic Park.

Originally built as the baseball stadium for the Sydney Olympics, ENGIE Stadium was remodelled to become the home of the GWS GIANTS with a 23,500-seat capacity and provides one of the best fan experiences for AFL games.

Sydney Showground Stadium has VIP catering facilities plus hospitality function rooms and the largest in stadia screen in the southern hemisphere.

Voted by visitors as one of the best stadiums in Australia, this is the ideal venue for major sporting events, concerts, festivals and corporate entertaining. A recent extensive upgrade throughout, at a cost of $65 million, has created a top-quality facility with brilliant audio and acoustics along with a full range of amenities. The venue can also be easily modified to host smaller events. Function rooms with VIP catering and bar facilities provide the ideal space for hospitality, training seminars or other special events.

Sydney Showground Stadium was redeveloped in 2013 for the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL club.

The upgrade saw seating capacity increase from 13,000 to 25,000 including two new grandstands, upgraded corporate hospitality, bars and function space, large video screen, new media facilities and improved audio and sound systems. The Main Arena surface was also reconfigured to allow a full-sized AFL field.

Officially known as the Sydney Showground Main Arena, naming rights has seen it named ENGIE Stadium, GIANTS Stadium, Skoda Stadium, Giants Stadium and Spotless Stadium.

Transport

Sydney Olympic Park is conveniently serviced by bus, train, taxi and ferry services. The site was purpose built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and has been designed to cope effortlessly with high volumes of visitors.

By train
Olympic Park train station is on Sydney Showgrounds doorstep. The Sprint service, operated by CityRail, travels between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations daily, every 10 minutes.

A limited number of direct services also operate between Central Station and Olympic Park Station in the afternoon on weekdays and for some major events.

Sydney Buses operate direct bus services to Sydney Olympic Park from a number of locations including Lidcombe, Strathfield and Parramatta.

Sydney Ferries run a daily service between Circular Quay and Parramatta stopping at Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf. To travel to Sydney Showground, visitors must also catch a connecting bus.
