Studio 20/17 is an artist run venue existing within the 2 Danks St complex, an exciting arts hub with a number of galleries offering Australian and international contemporary art, shops and a cafe. The gallery is composed of a retail area showcasing work by over 30 Australian and international contemporary jewellery artists and a separate exhibition space.

Bridget Kennedy and Melanie Ihnen both work in the studio, creating multiples, commissions and exhibition work. Visitors to the space are able to see the work in progress or visit our blog for a behind the scenes peek of whats happening in the workshop and to keep up to date on new work available in the gallery.

Our commitment to the environment is to use recycled gold and silver precious metals where possible when we are making our work in the studio. This means that we endeavour, where possible, not to use materials that are obtained from mines,preferring to use metals that have been refined or reused from scrap such as jewellery, photography or any other forms of scrap.

Bridget and Melanie are committed to providing an exhibition venue for contemporary jewellery artists to challenge the boundaries of contemporary jewellery within the context of the applied and fine arts.

Artists are invited to contribute to a regular exhibition calendar, including the gallerys annual Christmas Showcase, and group winter exhibition. The gallery is available at certain times of the year for exhibition hire. Please contact studio 20/17 for submission requirements.

Studio 20/17 aims to increase the profile of Contemporary Jewellery within the wider contemporary art arena.
