Traffic Jam Galleries is a fresh, unique art space, a landmark for the North Shore. Located within an industrial style four level building, reminiscent of a New York loft, now reinvented as a gallery and studio. It is itself an island surrounded by the bustle and buzz of Falcon Street and Military Road, Neutral Bay.
Once inside its a quiet haven of colour and inspiration. A place where you may encounter a full size pony made of chair legs, a row boat of singing men, a sumptuous landscape in oils, young bathers in mixed media running along a beach, old elegant wingbacks covered in psychedelic street art, a steel dancer pirouetting, wooden dogs yapping at your heels.
It is sumptuous, vibrant, unexpected and most of all comfortable and inviting. A place for you to take time and simply enjoy! Our focus is to present exciting, thought provoking and very desirable two and three dimensional contemporary art that can be enjoyed in a stimulating and friendly environment.
At the heart of Traffic Jam Galleries is the wish to unearth and represent a select group of predominantly interstate and international, inventive and compelling contemporary artists whose work is not fully represented in Sydney.
Traffic Jam Galleries is located at 41 Military Road, Neutral Bay NSW. It is at the eastern end of the central section of Military Road known as the island, opposite both Coles Neutral Bay and The Big Bear Medical Centre on Military Road.
There are two Pedestrian Crossings that will take you across to the eastern end of the island where traffic jam galleries is located. One near Short Lane on the Northern side of the gallery and one near Watson St on the Southern side of the gallery.
The laneway in front of the gallery has been recently named and is callery Tramway Lane. So we are effectively located on the corner of Military Rd and Tramway Lane (not on all GPSs and Directories as yet).
