Cafe Mint has been in operation for over 7 years and has become something of a local institution, and an essential part of weekend mornings for many locals.

Breakfast and lunch draws a large and eclectic crowd, seeing the place fill up as quick and healthy food keeps regulars coming back each day. Dinner from Tuesday to Saturday takes the food up to a more sophisticated level and the extensive meze selections make it easy to customise an exotic culinary tour through the Middle East.

Only just renovated, with a smart new bar by the front door, a more spacious layout and at last some comfortable seats, the familiar wooden panelling, and concrete bricks remain amongst larger tables, clever lighting and new clean lines. Sundays now feature a brunch menu with all your favourites.

We are now licensed and there is now a small list of well matched wines to complement the food with everything available by the glass. BYO is for bottle wine only and corkage is $7 per bottle.

The simple, tasty food is mainly from the Mod Med repertoire with the strongest influences coming from the southern and eastern shores. The menu includes many of the favourites from owner Hugh Fosters previous restaurant Fez, which became signature dishes, such as breakfast couscous, the meze plates and the spicy lamb with hummus. Ras el hanout grilled chicken and the vegetable couscous salad are among the popular choices at lunchtime. Dinner specials change regularly and reflect seasonal produce.

Saturday breakfast and lunch from 8am till 3pm
Sunday Brunch from 9am to 3pm
Dinners from 6pm on Tuesday & Wednesday until 9.30 pm; Thursday, Friday & Saturday until 10.00pm.

Closed on Monday

Sunday & Monday evenings can be reserved for full restaurant hire-out functions.
