Chifley Tower

Chifley Tower is located at 2 Chifley Square, Sydney. Its cross streets are Hunter, Phillip and Bent Streets. Due to its prominent location in the north-east CBD, the tower has broad harbour views from its 42 storeys.

Due to its prominent location, the building used primarily for commercial use, mostly financial institutions, law firms and corporations, and sometimes gives the illusion that it is the tallest in the city. The tower, with its 4-metre high floor-to-floor heights, is ideal for high technology communications.

A 3 metre lightning rod was added in 2000, the spire is 244 m the rooftop height is 216 m. To stop the tower from moving in the wind a giant steel pendulum weighing 400 tonnes is held from 8x75 mm wires near the rooftop. Level 41 Restaurant is 185 m above street level.

The Tower is named after after Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley.
