A ministry that reaches out to the lost, homeless and hurting people of our city with the good news of Jesus.
The purpose of this ministry is to see lives changed.
We are not just another welfare organisation but firmly believe that only through a life changing experience of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Saviour will those we serve be really set free from their current circumstances.
Jesus Cares has been in existence now for over 25 years. It continues today because it has remained relevant and does not try to duplicate what other charitable organisations do.
We operate in two areas, the inner city and the Blacktown area.
In the inner city we serve hot breakfasts for the rough sleepers around Central Railway Station two mornings a week, a food van on Friday and Saturday nights and a Sunday afternoon fellowship meeting where we also serve a hot meal.
In Blacktown we reach out to passers-by outside Blacktown Station on Friday nights, serving coffee and tea as well as some basic food. We also are involved in an Op Shop at Lalor Park that provides great ministry opportunities in a community that has a high level of public housing and unemployment.
The van ministry which we run connects with these people at the various places we go and the Sunday meetings provides a place where they can fellowship, and know that they are accepted and loved. Blacktown Ministry connects with a range of diverse cultural backgrounds, and the Op Shop touches the lives of the lonely and the disadvantaged.
Through our ministry we are building a sense of community amongst the homeless and the marginalised in our society.
