Liverpool Street Gallery |
Established in September 2003, Liverpool Street Gallery exhibits the best of Australian contemporary art alongside select solo exhibitions of renowned international artists.
Directors James Erskine, an experienced art collector, and William Nuttall, Director of Niagara Galleries, Melbourne, bring over four decades of collective expertise, knowledge and a shared passion for collecting contemporary art to Liverpool Street Gallery.
The gallery exhibits both established and emerging Australian artists, including Dick Watkins, Karl Wiebke, Steven Harvey, Peter Sharp, David Serisier, Kate Turner, John Beard and Magdalena Wozniak.
The annual calendar of exhibitions will also include Niagara Galleries artists Rick Amor, Gunter Christmann, John Kelly, David Keeling and Kevin Lincoln together with international artists Tony Bevan (UK) and Enrique Martinez Celaya (USA).
Whilst predominantly exhibiting innovative abstract, realist and figurative painting, Liverpool Street Gallery also exhibits sculpture, works on paper and photography. The exciting combination of different media and diverse artists we hope will encourage both collectors and admirers of contemporary art.
William Nuttall summarises the gallerys perspective: "the best contemporary Australian art stands with the finest in the world, but its important to see this in the context of what is happening internationally. It is our hope that the gallerys programme of overseas shows will inspire collectors."
