Cockatoo Island:

North Head Sanctuary:


Bushland, Barracks and Batteries Tour:

Discover the military history and natural beauty of North Head - occupied by the military since 1934. This guided tour includes the magnificent parade ground, examples of the art deco buildings, authentic WWII tunnels and pristine bushland. Over two hours the walking tour covers four kilometres and includes bush tracks, stairs and underground tunnels.

Defence of Sydney Tour:

Join the North Fort Artillery Museum, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust on a military discovery tour of North Head. Youll venture through tunnels and fortifications, explore the museum, see life through the eyes of a soldier and discover the myriad defence equipment that makes North Head so unique.

Tunnels, Tracks and Trails Tour:

Explore Defence fortifications hidden away for more than 100 years, beautiful bushland and see new and magnificent harbour views. See the historic submariners Miners Depot and follow a track through bushland to Georges Heights, occupied by the military since the 1870s. Go into 300m of tunnels, gun emplacements and enjoy these unique views of the Harbour.

Macquarie Lighthouse:


Explore Australias first and longest operating navigational light. Take a tour to learn about the history of this remarkable place and see magnificent harbour and city views from the top. Macquarie Lighthouse was originally built in 1818, designed by convict architect, Francis Greenway. The stone used in the lighthouse eroded and the current tower was built in 1883 to replace the original.

The lighthouse is still used for its initially intended purpose - as a guiding light for sailors showing the way to the harbour entrance.
