Millions more people around the world can soon see Sydneys spectacular New Years Eve celebrations, thanks to a Discovery Channel documentary.
Discovery Channel commissioned a production crew who spent several weeks last year filming the intense preparation and work that goes into making Sydney New Years Eve a world class celebration.
"This is the first time cameras have gone behind the scenes here at the City of Sydney, to see some of the 15 months of planning we put into making Sydney New Years Eve one of the most spectacular shows on the planet,"said Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP.
"Work is well underway for 2008 Sydney New Years Eve, when more than one million people will line the harbour foreshore and millions will enjoy the live television broadcast."
"Its fantastic that Discovery Channel is able to give viewers a front seat to Sydneys New Years Eve celebrations including exclusive access to the amazing project team behind one of the worlds greatest parties,"said Mandy Pattinson, senior Vice President and General Manager, Australia and New Zealand Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.
"This local documentary will also be shown to Discoverys worldwide audience allowing Sydney the chance to showcase internationally, the monumental effort that goes into producing one of the largest and most technologically advanced annual fireworks."

Revealed: New Years Eve will screen on the Discovery Channel at 7:30pmon Sunday 19 October 2008.
The program is part of a four-part series called Revealed which takes viewers behind-the-scenes showing the scale and complexity of organising the largest, most significant, cultural, social and religious events in the world. Other celebrations include Diwali in Varanasi and Chinese New Year in Beijing.
