Street Smart

Street Smart

StreetSmart Australia was established in 2003 to support and strengthen smaller, grassroots community organisations helping the homeless.

These smaller organisations are critical in helping many people in crisis.

Restaurant campaign

The StreetSmart campaign runs from every year from November until 24 December.

StreetSmart helps out by raising funds and delivering financial grants, raising community awareness of the issues of homelessness and assisting these organisations to connect across their communities.

When money is raised from the public through our fundraising events, 100 per cent of all donations is distributed in the form of grants. To date we have distributed $140,885.

We support critical services, social inclusion, empowerment and sustainable change for the homeless.

Get Involved

Involvement = Impact

Sometimes it all seems too hard. There are too many issues troubling the world. Too little time? What will our efforts really mean? How can we really help? But little by little we can do our own things to help.

We understand that many people, like us, want to work for stronger communities and a more tolerant, inclusive and compassionate society. We also understand its difficult to find enough time to do the things that are important to us. So here are four easy ways to help out and effect change in our community.

Your involvement will impact lives.

1. Tell your world about us
Put up a poster.

2. Organise your very own Big Dine Out.
Get into the spirit of Christmas with your very own Big Dine Out. Its BIG because we want it to impact lives in a big way. So why not gather your friends, family, colleagues and clients together to go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and aim to raise as much as you can on the day.

Once youve held your Big Dine Out, tell us all about it via email and your name will go into the draw for a fabulous Crumpler bag.

3. Sell ten of our limited edition wristbands.
We only got 5000 made - worldwide - so these are not available everywhere, actually they are only available here and now.

100% of your $25 will go to directly help the homeless.

4. Support the regions - some are doing it tough.
Some great community minded restaurants and cafes in the regions have joined up to help this year. Drought is hitting these regions hard and putting added pressure on the services that help the homeless. So check out the participating restaurants and wineries and plan a visit.

5. And of course we should all Dine out... help out.
And leave a donation. Easy.

"...its good to get involved"
