Welcome to the Independent - Sydneys "Newest and Oldest".

The Independent at North Sydney offers a 300 tiered seating Theatre Auditorium with state of the art lighting and sound.

Sydneys oldest Edwardian Theatre, the home of Dame Doris Fittons Independent drama company is an ideal small venue and concert hall for corporate training as well as cinema style sales training presentations and conferences.

The Independent Theatre is proudly owned and operated by Wenona School.

Getting to The Independent Theatre:

Getting here by bus from Sydney CBD
Take bus number 202, 203, 207, 208, 209 or 263 from Wynyard. Ask for the Stanton Library bus stop which is opposite The Independent.

Getting here by train
Take the train to North Sydney. Exit the station onto Miller Street and walk northwards, 3 blocks to The Independent. It is a 10 minute(approx.) walk from North Sydney train station.

Getting here by car from Sydney CBD
...using the Sydney Harbour Bridge
After crossing the bridge take the Pacific Highway exit (second on the left). Then turn right at the second traffic lights into Miller Street. Follow Miller Street, through two traffic lights and The Independent is 30m before the third set of traffic lights.

...using the Sydney Harbour Tunnel
After exiting the tunnel turn left onto Falcon Street (first exit). Then turn left at the first traffic lights onto Miller Street. Follow Miller Street through two sets of traffic lights and The Independent is on your left, 30 metres after Ridge Street.

Parking
One hour parking on Miller Street between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
Two hour parking behind the Theatre on Elliot Street Between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
