Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium
The Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium is operated by the University of Wollongong as a public science centre.
The centre includes a planetarium (BlueScope Steel Star Theatre), observatory, laser light shows, extensive interactive exhibits, demonstration theatre (Illawarra Coal Science Theatre), and a gift and resource shop.
The BlueScope Steel Planetarium features a state of the art Zeiss ZKP3 star projector, laser projector and full-dome show projector. The observatory houses a high quality computer controlled telescope which is used to observe the Sun and stars.
The Wollongong Science Centre and Planetarium is open from 10am to 4pm, 7 days a week. Bookings are also available out of hours and there are scheduled astronomy evenings.
