Epicentre has a long tradition of encouraging new and experienced theatre lovers to learn, create and have fun.

Each yearly season includes three productions at the Zenith Theatre. The company aims to select plays which are
challenging to perform but also provide a varied and interesting program for its audiences.

Mission Statement

To provide its members and supporters with the opportunity
to contribute, participate, learn and enjoy the experience of live theatre.

Epicentres goal is to produce live Theatre to the highest standard.

A founding group of the Zenith Theatre, Epicentre has provided a key role in the development of the venue.

A resident theatrical group contributing to the community of Willoughby for over 30 years, Epicentre Theatre Company is gratefully supported by Willoughby city Council.

A not for profit, non-professional community group, Epicentre is run by its members, for its members.

Each year an executive committee is elected by the members to manage the groups affairs.

Incorporated with the NSW Office of Fair Trade, Epicentre is governed by a Constitution which is available on request from the company.

Epicentre has also taken part in every Theatrefest, a festival of one act plays for non-professional theatres, since the festivals inception in 1988.

The company has won an award for Best Performance three times, won second best once and accumulated an impressive number of acting awards.

During the 1998 Theatrefest, Epicentre won both the Best Performance and Best Actor awards.

Actors, writers, directors, playwrights, lighting and sound designers and all manner of technical crew are always welcome to enquire about upcoming productions. Many of our technicians have gone on to professional careers in the performing arts industry.
