Some McDonalds restaurants offer free wireless Internet although Dominic says he has been to several that are NOT free wifi, they are unsecured, pre-paid wifi spots and they only offer 60m a day. Only if you are a Telstra post-paid customer will you be able to retrieve a SMS Token, by which you will be charged 25c for the token and 20c per minute after that.

This page is one of the most frustrating pages we publish because venues are keen to tell us when they launch their service but never tell us when they stop.
We also get grief mail from tight-arses saying (in a whingy voice) this place isnt free, or its tethered, or you have to buy something first.. well surprise surprise! So, we got tired of the abuse and renamed the list from FREE to Wireless Internet (WiFi) Locations.
Do Not Use FREE WiFi
According to AVG anti-virus software company, we should not trust free networks. Only use WiFi networks that you know to be fully secure (i.e. password protected). Also ensure that you dont unknowingly connect to free WiFi networks by switching Ask to Join Networks on.
