Marian St Theatre For Young People is Australias longest running childrens theatre and drama school.
For over 35 years, childrens theatre and drama classes at Marian St Theatre for Young People have provided children with their first rich experience of theatre, and young people of all ages with invaluable training in theatrical and life skills. It has inspired and nurtured some of todays leaders in the community and the arts.
The Drama School offers classes in all facets of theatre for those aged 5 to adult, as well as school holiday workshops in specialised fields.
The Childrens Theatre presents a season of three shows per year at Marian St Theatre, and additional shows in other venues around Sydney. These are participation plays for 3-10 year olds, and are performed by senior students of the drama school.
Marian Street Theatre is located at 2 Marian Street Killara. It is a short walk from Killara railway station, and there is ample parking in the theatre carpark. It is right next to Selkirk Park, which provides a convenient and leafy location for a picnic before or after the show.

To extend the range of theatre productions available to children.
To take productions to Childrens Festivals in Australia and overseas, using professional actors and skilled young performers. To create Theatre for Young People of a type and quality that can tour to Youth Festivals in Australia and worldwide.
To create a Theatre-in-Education company employing professional actors.
To develop partnerships with government and community organizations, providing a place for people and organizations to collaborate in the making of theatre for young people.
To create further employment opportunities in childrens theatre for professional artists.
To extend the learning opportunities for young performers involved in childrens theatre.
