Sydney College of Divinity

The Sydney College of Divinity is a national ecumenical federation of theological colleges working together to provide the highest possible standard of education in theology, ministry and related disciplines.

The structure of the College is such that responsible autonomy for each Member Institution and respect for the traditions of each community are balanced with a collegiate responsibility for credible academic standards and a high level of education attainment.

The bringing together of these different traditions has resulted in greater knowledge and deeper respect for the various ways of interpreting and living the Christian Gospel.

The Sydney College of Divinity is a modest triumph of true ecumenical spirit, for which the Member Institutions are thankful to God.

The Sydney College of Divinity continues to foresee greater interchange of staff and students and works to foster the study and teaching of Christian theology throughout Australia and beyond.

The operations of the SCD include:

the accreditation of awards;

the sustaining of a teaching program of excellence;

a vocational orientation in the study of theology;

the recognition of diverse theological traditions;

inclusiveness in its functioning.
