Trees in Newastle (TIN) |
Landcaring at Glenrock State Recreation Area, 2nd Sunday of every month.
Would you like to love a bit of bushland? Ever wanted to learn about our native shrubbery in a very hands-on way?
Glenrock SRA is a biodiverse wonderland that can always use a bit of help. Glenrock is special because there is so much to see and do. It is an opportunity to develop a range of Bush regeneration skills and learn about beautiful dwarfed Angophora woodland that is in need of tender care.
Where to Meet:
Trees in Newcastle has adopted a little piece of Glenrock SRA to care for. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 10am at the track opposite Merewether Heights Public School.
We care for the land for a couple of hours and socialise along the way. There is always an experienced bush regenerator on hand with tools. Wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves, a hat and bring water.
Trees in Newcastle is a community Landcare Group, local native plant nursery, volunteer and education centre and bush regeneration provider. Our aim is to improve the local environment of the Lower Hunter region through regeneration and the protection and propagation of local native plants.
TIN is located at 252 Parry Street, Newcastle West 2302 (next door to the Newcastle Community Arts Centre) behind the garden on the corner of Selma Street/Parry Street and Gordon Avenue.
